Volleyball Defeats Prairie View A&M 3-1
Nov. 6, 2007 PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas-- McNeese State's volleyball team defeated Prairie View A&M for the second time within a week with a 3-1 victory by the scores of 30-23, 30-32, 30-14, 34-32 to improve to 17-13 overall. McNeese's reserves played most of the match while the Cowgirls' regular starters saw limited action. Chanel Tyler led the Cowgirls with 11 kills and a .333 hitting percent. Sarah Cartie dished out 41 assists and was credited with 10 digs. Jessica Strama, who became the first Cowgirl to record over 2,000 career digs over the weekend led all players with 28 on the night. Amanda Allen and Deanna Sanchez also recorded double figure digs with 11 and 10, respectively. Lindsey Petzold was credited with six blocks. McNeese will conclude its regular season this weekend when they will host Texas-San Antonio at 7 p.m. Friday night and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday at 4 p.m. Seniors Jessica Strama, Amber Click and Lindsey Petzold will be honored prior to Saturday's match. |
