NEW ORLEANS-- McNeese State's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match at to a very good Tulane team here Tuesday night by a 3-0 score (21-30, 21-30, 17-30), dropping the Cowgirls to 8-11 on the season. Tulane improved to 17-4 overall.

The Cowgirls continue to struggle with hitting errors as they committed 23 in the match and posted a .071 hitting percent. Tulane capitalized on the Cowgirls' mistakes and hit .330 for the match.

After falling behind 16-9 in game one, McNeese made a comeback to cut the lead to 21-15 on a Tulane error. The Cowgirls wouldn't get any closer as they dropped the first game by a 30-21 score.

In the second game, McNeese took an early 5-2 lead on back to back kills by Chanel Tyler. Tulane would eventually tie the game eight all and take a 9-8 lead on a Bridget Wells kill. The Green Wave would increase that lead to 15-9 and eventually take the game 30-21.

In the third game, the Cowgirls once again took an early lead but Tulane was just too much. Leading 21-13 after a Cowgirl serving error, Tulane outscored McNeese 9-4 the rest of the way to take the final game by a 30-17 score.

Alyson Jones led the Cowgirls with nine kills and Lindsay Brooks added eight. Sarah Cartie dished out 23 assists and led the team with three service aces.
