Volleyball Team Drops Match At Lamar

BEAUMONT, Texas-- McNeese State's volleyball team dropped a Southland Conference match at Lamar here Saturday in straight sets 30-19, 30-21, 30-22. The loss drops the Cowgirls to 8-10 overall and 2-3 SLC. Lamar improves to 14-7 overall and remains undefeated at 5-0 in league play.

The Cowgirls struggled on offense by committing 28 hitting errors in 129 attempts. McNeese hit less than .100 percent in each game and Lamar hit over .100 in each game. The Cowgirls failed to get a player to record double figure kills. Lindsay Brooks led the Cowgirls with nine kills and added 10 digs.

Jessica Strama led al players with 17 digs and Sarah Cartie led the Cowgirls with 26 assists.

Lamar had two players record double figure kills with 10 coming from Destiny Mason and Courtney Mitchell.

McNeese will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to New Orleans for a 7 p.m. match at Tulane.
