Volleyball Team Falls To Nicholls State In Straight Sets

THIBODAUX-- McNeese State's volleyball team dropped a Southland Conference match at Nicholls State here Saturday afternoon in straight sets by the scores of 29-31, 20-30, 20-30. The loss drops the Cowgirls to 7-8 overall and 1-1 in the SlC.

McNeese didn't manage to get a player to record double figure kills and was led by Lindsay Brooks' eight kills. Sarah Cartie led the Cowgirls with 31 assists and Jessica Strama led with 15 digs.

After a team .324 hitting percent in the opening game, the Cowgirls were unable to hit over .200 in the next two game. McNeese committed 13 hitting errors, 10 service errors and 14 reception errors.

McNeese will return to league play this weekend when they will travel to Northwestern State on Friday for a 7 p.m. match before a 2 p.m. match at Central Arkansas on Saturday.
