MOBILE, Alabama--- Senior libero Jessica Strama broke McNeese State's career dig record here Friday afternoon in the Cowgirls' 3-0 straight set victory over Kennesaw State in the opening match of the South Alabama Jaquar Classic. Strama entered the tournament needing four to break the record held by Anissa Parker. Strama tripled that amount with a match high 13.

McNeese won the opening game 30-22, took the second game by a score of 30-16 and closed out the match with a 30-21 third game victory.

Jennifer Cook led the Cowgirls with nine kills and a .533 hitting percent. Cook had 15 attempts and committed only one error. Setter Sarah Cartie led all players with a match high 32 assists while Lindsey Petzold and Deanna Sanchez both had a match high five service aces.

McNeese (5-6) will face Lipscomb at 1:30 p.m. and South Alabama at 4 p.m. Saturday.
