Tennis Team Returns To Southland Conference Play Today

March 19, 2008

McNeese State's women's tennis team returns to Southland Conference play today when the Cowgirls (5-7, 0-4 SLC) will travel to Beaumont, Tx. to face Lamar (12-1, 4-0 SLC) in a 2 p.m. Southland Conference match. The Cowgirls enter the match on a two match winning streak after defeating Louisiana Tech 6-1 and Memphis 5-2 last weekend.

Meri Alamo, the Cowgirls' no. 1 player leads the team with a 7-5 record and Inga Efimenko the no. 6 player has the second best record at 6-5. The no. 1 and no. 2 doubles teams both have a 6-6 record heading into today's match.

Lamar enters the match ranked 75th in the nation after winning its tenth consecutive match with a 7-0 win over Marist on Monday.
