McNeese State's softball team (15-29, 8-10 SLC) will host Southeastern La. 28-14, 12-8 SLC) in a three game Southland Conference series beginning with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Cowgirls have loss their last four games including a SLC series at Texas-Arlington last weekend and most recently a 7-0 loss at Louisiana-Lafayette Wednesday. McNeese enters the weekend in eighth place in the league standings with three SLC series remaining on the schedule. The Cowgirls will travel to Central Arkansas and Nicholls State for its next two SLC series before concluding the regular season with a three game series against Texas State May 3-4.

Senior catcher Jenny Clay continues to lead the Cowgirls with a .368 batting average, .632 slugging percent, 42 hits, 13 doubles and 28 runs scored. Clay is tied for a team high five home runs and second on the team with 20 RBI's.

Rachel King is also hitting over .300 with a .305 average. King has 29 hits in 95 at bats and 12 RBI's.

Junior hurler Michelle LaVoie leads the pitching staff with 24 appearances, eight victories, 4.02 ERA in 111.1 innings pitched.

Southeastern La. enters the series in fourth place in the SLC standings behind Texas State, Stephen F. Austin and Texas-San Antonio. The Lions are have won three of their last four games including two wins over Sam Houston State last weekend.

Heather Sherrill leads the Lions with a .397 batting average, .683 slugging percent, 50 hits, 12 doubles and 34 RBI's.
