Sara Vogt enters her second season as an assistant on the Cowgirl softball team. Vogt brings a thorough knowledge of the game and valuable experience as both a coach and a player to the Cowgirl program. She will work primarily with the infielders and oversee the Cowgirl defense and conditioning.

Aside from her regular coaching duties, Vogt will assist in recruiting, monitor the academic progress of student athletes, organizes all fundraising efforts as well as assist with field maintenance. In addition, Vogt serves as the travel and summer camp coordinator.

Prior to joining the Cowgirl staff, Vogt served as an assistant coach at Wichita State. Starting off the season with a win over then 10th ranked Baylor, a win that sparked a stretch of games where the Shockers went 9-1 including the 2006 Crowne Plaza Classic title and the Shocker Invitational title. Vogt coached the outfielders and assisted with hitting while this Shocker team recorded a 35-23 record.

Vogt is no stranger to the Southland Conference, spending the 2005 season as an assistant at Northwestern State. That year she helped the Demons to a 35-28 overall record and a fourth place finish in the league.

Prior to being named assistant coach at NSU, she held the same position at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC At FMU, Vogt coached the outfielders as well as serving as the first base coach and assisted with game management.

Prior to her time at FMU, she served as a manager for the Indiana University softball program in Bloomington, IN, where she also received her B.S. in Sport Marketing and Management in 2003.

Vogt was a second baseman and an outfielder at Wabash Valley Junior College in Mount Carmel, IL, from 1998-2000. While at WVJC she helped lead her team to consecutive regional championship appearances and earned Academic All-American honors.
