Soccer Team Receives Championship Rings

LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese State's 2007 Southland Conference Co-Champion Women's Soccer team was honored here Thursday with a ring ceremony held in the Cowboy Room. The ceremony acknowledged the Cowgirls for their championship season and Southland Conference Tournament run. A total of 24 players received rings. The ceremony is the second straight for the soccer program. In 2006, the Cowgirls won the Southland Conference Tournament and earned the NCAA Tournament's automatic bid for the first time in school history. The Cowgirls were honored with rings for that accomplishment.
