Jordan Picou Becomes Ninth Signee For 2008 Season

Cowgirls Sign Vanderbilt Catholic's Jordan Picou

March 31, 2008

LAKE CHARLES -- After signing eight prep standouts to National Letters of Intent on National Signing Day, Vanderbilt Catholic's Jordan Picou became the ninth signee as announced by head soccer coach Scooter Savoie.

Picou joins the Cowgirls following an outstanding career at Vanderbilt Catholic in Houma in which she established herself as one of the state's top seniors while leading her team to a State Title.

"Jordan is a great soccer player and one of the best in Louisiana. Her individual and team accomplishments speak for themselves. Her play and leadership has lead both Vanderbilt Catholic and the New Orleans Soccer Academy to very successful soccer seasons," said Savoie.

Picou was a four-time District 2-3A All-District and All-State first team as a midfielder. Perhaps her greatest accomplishment as a prep player was being named the Division 2 MVP at the conclusion of her senior season.

"Jordan embodies the style and personal characteristics our Cowgirl soccer family strives to represent. Within five minutes of meeting her we knew we wanted her on our team. She is a driven individual. I believe the way you measure a person's character is not by how many people you ask about that person, but by the number of people who take it upon themselves to go out of their way to tell you what a quality individual that person is. I can attest that people from all over the soccer community have spoken very highly of Jordan's character and ability to lead her team to championships. We are very proud Jordan has chosen to join our Cowgirl family."
