The second annual Striker Club Golf Tournament benefiting McNeese State's Women's Soccer program is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 at the Contraband Bayou Golf Club at L'Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles. The tournament format is a four person scramble with a shotgun start beginning at 2 p.m. All proceeds go to support the soccer program through the McNeese Athletic Foundation. A portion of the funds raised will be used to make improvements to the Cowgirl soccer field and other soccer facilities.

Golfers are sure to enjoy this Tom Fazio designed golf course as Contraband Bayou Golf Club is quickly earning a reputation among Gulf Coast golf courses as a must-play venue. Participation in this fun and exciting golf tournament will help get the Cowgirls off to the right start for their 2008 championship campaign as they make a run for another record breaking season.

The Cowgirls are the 2007 defending regular season champions and the 2006 Southland Conference Tournament Champions and NCAA Tournament qualifier. This is a great opportunity to tee it up and support a championship team of outstanding young ladies.
