Winning Team: James Overbo, Jimmie Heath, Corey Hatly and Nick Brown
 
 
James Overbo, Jimmie Heath, Corey Hartley and Nick Brown team to win FCA's

The team of James Overbo, Jimmie Heath, Corey Hartly and Nick Brown won the recent "Amazing Race" competition put on recently by the McNeese State Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter.

Overbo and Heath are members of the McNeese track and field team while Heath and Hartly are also McNeese cheerleaders.

Competition came in such activities as sand volleyball, softball, basketball free throw shooting, agility drills, bowling, skeet shooting and eating. The event drew 120 students and began at Cowboy Stadium. It ended with a meal for all at the Cowboy Room.

Steve Sanford coordinated the activity.


The activity is patterned after the national television show.

Second place went to the team of Kleon Penn, Molly Guidry, Keri Leger and Bevyn Taylor while third place was claimed by the team of Dustin Stroud, Erika Coleman, Terrance Freeman and Marquael Beason.

The sportsmanship award went to the team of Michah Benoit, Anna Dowers, Erlilnda Rodrique and Eve Tauzin and the foursome of Sara Pace, Carli Whiteside, Micah Hunter and Dusti Hare was honored for placing last.

Former champions Buck Harris, Jeff Breaux, Zack Bronson and Zeb Hawkins did not defend title.


The 2007 champions - Cowboy strength coach Zeb Hawkins and assistant football coaches Buck Harris, Zack Bronson and Jeff Breaux - failed to defend their title.

Steve Sanford, the university sponsor for the FCA chapter, coordinated the event along with numerous volunteers.
