Beaumont, TX - McNeese State's Lacy McKinley teed off in a tie for second place on Tuesday after one round of the Southland Conference women's golf tournament.

The event is being played at the Beaumont Country Club and McKinley checked in with an even par 72.

She trailed Linnn Gustafsson of Texas State by only a single stroke and was tied with Ashley Watkins of A&M-Corpus Christi in second place.

As a team the Cowgirls were in sixth place in the eight team field with a 309 score. Texas State led the tournament with 300 followed by A&M-Corpus Christi at 305, Sam Houston State 306, Central Arkansas 308, McNeese, UTSA 312 and Nicholls State 314.

The only other Cowgirl in the top 10 after the first 18 holes was Randi Fischer who was tied for 10th with a 76.

Other Cowgirl scoring had Maggie Welch with a 79 and a tie for 25th, Jennifer Herrmann with an 82 and a tie for 36th an Jacy Reynolds at 90 and in 40th place.

The tournament concludes after 18 holes of play on Tuesday and Wednesday.
