HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas-- McNeese State's women's golf team is in 16th place following the first two rounds of the Arkansas-Little Rock Classic here Monday. In the opening round the Cowgirls shot a 326 as a team then came back in the second round to shoot a 313 for a total of 639 on the day. The final round of will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Maggie Welch is the Cowgirls' top finisher after the first two rounds. Welch is in a 25th place tie after shooting a 78 in the opening round and followed that with a 76 in the second round for a total of 154. Lacy McKinley and Jennifer Herrmann are both tied for 55th place at 161, Mandi Hamilton is tied for 81st place at 165 and Jacy Reynolds is tied for 98 place with a 173.

The University of Tulsa and Florida International are tied for the team lead with a 605. Both teams shot a 305 in the opening round and a 300 in the second round.
