FRISCO, Texas-- McNeese State's senior guard Brittany Boone is one of 10 student-athletes named to the 2007-08 Capital One Academic All-Southland Conference Women's Basketball Team as announce by the league office here Monday.

Boone, a native of Somerville, TN., was named to the second team with a 3.01 GPA in General Studies. She was one of three Cowgirls to end the season in double figure scoring with 10.4 ppg. She led the Cowgirls with 1.3 steals and ranked third on the team in scoring, second with 4.9 rpg. She averaged 11.7 ppg. and 5.9 rpg. in Southland Conference games only. Boone recorded two double-doubles and scored in double figures in 10 of the Cowgirls last 13 games and 13 of the last 17 games. She grabbed an individual high 14 rebounds against Nicholls State and dished out a career high seven assists against Nicholls State. Boone was named the Southland Conference "Player of the Week" once this season.
