Neel DeRouen is in his third year as the Cowboy head coach. He is a native of Lake Charles and also serves as director of golf at Gray Plantation in Lake Charles. He has more than 20 years of experience as a golf instructor, was rated the fifth best golf instructor in the state of Louisiana by Golf Digest and was recently voted Teacher of the Year of the Gulf States section of the PGA. Prior to joining Gray, he worked as a golf instructor at LeTriomphe Golf and Country Club in Broussard where he established the Golf Institute of LeTriomphe and he also spent 11 years as first golf professional and then director of golf at the Lake Charles Country Club. The McNeese coach has worked with countless PGA and mini-tour professionals, college players and amateurs of all skill levels in his career. At Gray Plantation, he is in charge of a course that was ranked one of the top 100 public courses in the United States earlier this year.
