McNeese Cowboys receive football championship rings

March 12, 2008

McNeese State passed out its football championship rings for the 2007 season on Wednesday.

The rings were produced by Jostens and designed by Cowboy defensive coordinator Lark Hebert with help from some of the players.

McNeese went undefeated during the regular season, posting an 11-0 mark, and won its second straight Southland Conference title.

The ring features a solid blue "M" on top. A valley of encrusted shear ice diamonds accentuate the "M" and the top of the ring features the words "undefeated champions."

On one side of the ring is the player's name and number and on the other side is the year, the school name and the Southland Conference logo.

This year's ring is silver.

"The players wanted a silver ring this season," Hebert said, "and that's why we went with a solid blue M."
