Carlos McGee has returned to coaching the running backs after one season as the defensive backfield coach. In two of the last four seasons, McNeese has produced the Southland Conference's top running back, Vick King taking the award twice. Also, Cowboy fullback Luke Lawton is now employed by the New York Jets. A former McNeese player as well as graduate, McGee is in his seventh season with the Cowboys and has also served as tight end coach, helping Jeff Hamilton to all-league honors. Current Cowboy tailback Chris Thomas will go into the season with 1600 plus rushing yards. During a four year playing career with the Cowboys, McGee caught five td passes.
