Lark Hebert is the team's linebacker coach and is also the co-defensive coordinator. He recruits the north Houston area. He was a four year letterman for the Cowboys during his playing career, participating as both an offensive and defensive lineman Hebert is now in his sixth year after coming aboard in 2002. Three years ago as the linebacker coach Hebert helped Roderick Royal earn all-America honors and this past season Trey Bennett was an all-conference selection and Allen Nelson an all-Louisiana pick. His prep coaching career had him serving as head coach at Sulphur High, Beau Chene High and Elton High. Three times his teams won a district title and he compiled an overall 53-35 won-lost record. Twice his teams posted 10-2 marks, once at Elton and again at Sulphur, and he was named a district coach of the year (twice) and parish coach of the year.
