Quentin Gonzales is a big, strong performer who has the ability to play the three through five (forward/post) positions. He is the top returning rebounder on the team and was an honorable mention on the all-Southland Conference squad last season. He is also the second best returning scorer on the team with the ability to score from both inside and out...transferred in from Iowa Western Junior College. Junior Season (2005-2006): averaged 7.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game...in league play only, he posted 7.5 scoring and 6.1 rebounding averages...had 10 blocked shots...three double, doubles last year with 18 points and 15 rebounds against Louisiana College, 16 points and 12 rebounds vs Lamar and 13 points and 12 rebounds vs Sam Houston State...team's leading rebounder five times...started the last 10 games... Pre-McNeese: played two seasons at Iowa Western College in Council Bluffs, IA and averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game his last year...he helped his team to a 33-7 record (a school record for victories), to the regional and district title and into the national junior college tournament...at the national tournament the team won four of five games to finish fifth in the nation...Gonzales was named to the all-tournament team...in high school at Galveston Ball High, he averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds per game his senior season and earned his second straight district MVP honor...
