May 4, 2008
by Josh Brown
Conway, AR - The McNeese State Cowboys fell 18-1 to the Central Arkansas Bears in a seven inning run-rule game in Southland Conference action here this afternoon. The Cowboys fall to 13-35 overall and 7-17 in SLC action while the Bears improve to 22-24 overall, 10-14 in SLC play. McNeese starter Michael Robbins was tagged with the loss to fall to 1-2 on the season. Bobby Pritchett started and went all seven innings to earn the victory, improving to 4-5 on the year. The Bears jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, roughing up Robbins for five runs in the first inning as they knocked him out of the game after only recording one out. The Cowboys only recorded two hits on the afternoon, back-to-back doubles by Taylor Freeman and Nick Eubanks in the fourth inning to get on the board. Freeman doubled to break up the no-hitter and Eubanks drove him in with his double. Eubanks recorded the only Cowboy RBI. Travis Bailey, Matt Click, Darrell Stevens and Dallas Smith also pitched in the game for the Cowboys. McNeese is back in action on the road against Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday night at Tigue Moore Field on the campus of ULL. First pitch it set for 6:30 PM.
