Tyler Stutes saw action as both a first baseman and as a pitcher last season and he's expected to play both positions this year...he batted .282 with a pair of home runs and won one game on the mound, being used mainly in relief.

Pre-McNeese: played junior college ball at Pearl River where he posted a 6-0 won-lost record with a 2.95 ERA and struckout 45 batters...at the plate he batted .220 with three home runs and 25 RBIs...prepped at Teurlings Catholic High where he played pitcher and in centerfield...batted .400 his senior season and had a 10-4 won-lost record along with a 1.38 ERA..struckout 92 batters....all-state, all-district and all-parish..also all-district as a defensive back on the football team...
