Cross country teams will run at Natchitoches on Monday

McNeese State's cross country teams will be in action Monday afternoon in Natchitoches at the Northwestern State invitational.

The women will run 5K beginning at 4 p.m. and the men will run 8K starting at 4:30 p.m.

Tinette Burger will lead the Cowgirls. She is undefeated in cross country meets this season, having won the Louisiana Tech and the LSU meets. She has also been named the Southland Conference woman runner of the week twice.

Joining her on the Cowgirl team will be Amy Guinn, Anna Caffery, Jennifer LaValley and Carly Thurman.

Mark Hoey, who has won one meet and finished sixth in another, will lead the Cowgirls. He ran 6th at the LSU meet and won the Louisiana Tech outing.

Other Cowboys expected to compete at Northwestern State are Alasdair Russell, Matt Fontenot, Ryan Barrow, Stephen Scullion, Johnathan Koenck, Kenneth Pierce and Jordan Neill.

Following this meet McNeese will take part in the Great American Race in Birmingham, AL on Oct. 13 and then participate in the Southland Conference championship meet Oct. 27 in Corpus Christi, TX.
