Brendon Gilroy adds four to his track and field coaching staff

McNeese State track and field coach Brendon Gilroy has completed his coaching staff by adding four new members. Lincoln London and Erik Whitsitt will serve as assistant coaches, Daniel Trosclair as a part time coach and Alan Foolkes as a graduate assistant coach. London will handle the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers, Whitsitt will work with the throwing events, Trosclair with the pole vaulters and Foolkes with the distance runners. A graduate of Abilene Christian and a native of Trinidad, London has served as a volunteer coach at Abilene for three years and has also been the coach for professional track and field athletes including his wife Delloreen who is a nationally ranked hurdler. He recently coached her to a third place showing at the World Championships in Japan. London has also worked with hurdler Danny McFarlane who won silver at the Olympics in Athens in 2004. London was a quartermiler during his career, winning conference titles and earning seven NCAA all-America honors.
He was a member of four conference track and field championship teams, was a four time regional qualifier and finished 16th in the 2007 NCAA championship. Trosclair won a SEC pole vault championship during his career at LSU and also was a two-time all-American. He prepped at H. L. Bourgeois High where he earned all-state and all-district honors.
Foolkes just completed his eligibility as a distance runner for the Cowboys, being the lead runner on last year's team. He's a native of Ireland and earned his degree in Accounting. He ran 31:06.99 in the 10,000 meters this past year and earned all-Louisiana honors.
