June 22, 2008

Columbus, OHIO - McNeese State freshman Johnathan Koenck was injured during the running of the steeplechase on Sunday in the final day of the U.S. Junior Track and Field championship.

He hit a hurdle on the sixth lap and was unable to finish the race.

Koenck was one of three McNeese freshmen who took part in the meet which had started on Friday.

Other performances for the Cowboys had Ben Chretien going 198-4 in the javelin for an eighth place finish and Jacob Domingue getting a personal best of 57-3 3/4 for an 11th place in the shot put.
