Now in his second season, Steve Manz handles the team's weight event performers

He was a three time all-American in the shot put and the discus during his collegiate career and was a finalist at the 2004 Olympic trials.

During his collegiate career at Michigan State, he twice won conference honors and was a regional champion with career bests of 64-11 1/2 in the shot and 170-1 in the discus...he also set four school records.

As a high school performer, he was the 1999 state champion in the discus and was a member of the 1997 state champion football team....he also earned all-state honors three times in track.

He earned his degree in Zoology and is working on a master degree in Biomechanics.

He previously served as a graduate assistant coach at Michigan State.
