Sonny White - McNeese Rodeo Hall of Fame member

Sonny White, a member of the McNeese State Rodeo Hall of Fame, recently passed away.

He had lived in Prairieville, LA for the past 43 years.

White was a 2003 inductee into the McNeese rodeo hall of fame. During his collegiate career he was a roper and steer wrestler and was a member of the university's national championship teams in 1958 and 1959.

Following his collegiate career he participated in professional rodeos until 1971 and until recently took part in team roping as a header. He belonged to both the United States Team Roping Championship Association and the Deep South Team Roping Association.
