Basile Welcomes Cowboy Round-Up Tour

Basile Welcomes Cowboy Round-Up Tour

June 25, 2007

BASILE-- Over 100 fans showed up at Basile High School here Monday night to welcome McNeese State's Cowboy Round-Up Tour. The tour is in its final week of stops with the next stop scheduled for Jennings on Wednesday, June 27 at the Multi-Purpose Building at the Fairgrounds.

Tonight's crowd was one of the better crowds to welcome McNeese State's coaching staff, athletic department staff and booster clubs. Fans in attendance came from Basile and the surrounding area to take part in the event.

McNeese head coaches on hand were head football coach Matt Viator, head volleyball coach Dale Starr, head women's basketball coach Brooks Donald Williams, head men's basketball coach Dave Simmons, head softball coach Chris Malveaux and head baseball coach Terry Burrows while assistant coach Andrew Fitzgerald represented women's soccer.

Interim Athletic Director Tommy McClelland was pleased with the crowd and his presence played a major part in the amount of fans showing up for the event. McClelland is a graduate of Basile High and a former member of the football and track & field teams.
